Dave Rubin of The Rubin Report talks to Heather Mac Donald, Fellow at the Manhattan Institute about how we teach victimhood to our college students, why the damage of the BLM riots has already been forgotten and how Joe Biden’s racial equity push will backfire. Heather talks about how Americans have chosen safety culture and abandoned the entrepreneur mindset that helped make the US the most prosperous nation in history. She discusses the big lies of systemic racism and sexism that kids are taught in college. Students are being taught that everything is racist now. We now teach our students equity and identity politics instead of entrepreneurship and risk management. This can only lead to resentment and more racism on the far-right. Heather does remark that that elite prep schools have been focusing on multiculturalism and diversity for quite some time. Heather also discusses how diversity and inclusion hiring practices create a system of black privilege. Heather discusses the Capitol riot and how the storming the Capitol was abhorrent, but not nearly as bad as the black lives matter protests during the summer. While the media were quick to denounce Trump supporters they have all but erased the damage done to American cities by BLM protesters. Heather also comments on the Big tech social media purge and how even she has been surprised by how swift the wave of social media censorship has been. She shares how the people in power seem to have no understanding of due process or the presumption of innocence. They seem unaware that banning Fox News or hate speech will backfire as soon as conservatives take power again. Heather discusses how Joe Biden’s executive orders on racial equity are just the next step in ending America’s meritocracy. Heather states that equity will result in racial quotas. She would not be surprised if Ibram X Kendi, author of ‘How to Be an Antiracist’ gets a position in the Biden administration. She believes blaming systemic racism for the racial wealth gap ignores the poor academic records of young black boys and that if we want to close the racial wealth gap we will need to start there. This would entail making drastic changes to the welfare state and public school system. These changes would also help struggling poor whites like those depicted in Hillbilly Elegy as well.
